Synonyms

1. Synonyms memory

Memory - The level consists of 18 pairs (each consisting of words paired with other words) and all of them are practiced in every game round. The student's task is to find two cards that match. If two matching cards are found, they are removed from the board. The game is finished when all 18 pairs of cards have been found and no cards are left on the board. There is no limit to the number of allowed misses, so the only thing that counts is finding all card pairs. There is no time limit. If it is too difficult, the player can click the button labeled Cancel - then it will show which pairs of cards match - and try to complete the level again.

2. Guess the synonym

Guess word - The level consists of 18 words, but a maximum of 1 word are practiced per game round. The student has to find the word or sentence by guessing letters from the alphabet. If the suggested letter is in the word, it is filled in at the correct positions in the letter slots. If the letter is not in the word, a balloon pops. If the player can guess the correct letters and find the word before all 1 balloons run out, the round is won. For each word there is a clue to help the player guess the word. There is no time limit. If it is too difficult, the player can click the button labeled Cancel - then the correct word will be displayed - and try to complete the level again.

3. Connect the synonyms

Link up - The level consists of 18 questions, but a maximum of 10 questions are practiced per game round. The player's task is to link the 10 questions in the colored boxes with the most appropriate answers in the white boxes. Each colored box can only be linked to one white box and vice versa. The student receives feedback on their links Before submission. The student has 3 hearts, giving them another chance at missed links during a game round. Questions have text-to-speech in English. Answers have text-to-speech in English. There is no time limit. When the student has linked all the boxes correctly, the game round is completed. If it is too difficult, the player can click the button labeled Cancel - then the correct links are displayed - and try to complete the level again.

4. Find the synonyms (Word search)

Letter grid - The level consists of 18 words, but a maximum of 10 words are practiced per game round. The player is shown a board with letters arranged in a grid and must drag the mouse pointer or finger over the letters until the word is found. The words to be found are placed on the board as 8-way straight words and they are listed with hidden letters next to the board. If the student manages to find all the words, the round is won. There is no time limit. If it is too difficult, the player can click the button labeled Cancel - then the correct words will be displayed - and try to complete the level again.

5. Find the words (Mastermind)

Mastermind - The level consists of 18 words, but a maximum of 1 word are practiced per game round. The student's goal is to solve the code word in a maximum of 6 guesses. For each guess, the student learns if the letter is part of the word (yellow), if it is also in the correct place (green) or if it is not part of the word at all (gray). The words the player guesses are checked against our English dictionary, which means that each guess must be a valid word. If the player manages to solve the word code and finds the hidden word within the 6 guesses, the game round is won. After each game round, the player receives feedback with more info about the code word that was requested. There is no time limit. If it is too difficult, the player can click the button labeled Cancel - then the correct word will be displayed - and try to complete the level again.
